KidFest 2010 ...

Saturday, June 12th, was a hot (92), sunny day with a nice breeze. The tents and canopies were set up in the morning .. with the games, crafts, snacks (hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones), etc, .. with the moonwalks (2), hay rides, casting contest from a jon boat all set up in the early afternoon.
*
The Carnival began at 4:00 PM and was a huge success with about 150 kids attending. They were all given tickets to claim prizes at the registration table.
*
Scott Condict and Sagemont\'s \"The Movement\" conducted the Rally at 6:00 PM!! Lot\'s of great door prizes were given at the Rally .. including a new 20\" bike, 3 leather bound Bibles, $20 Chick-fil-A gift cards, sleeping bag, lawn chair, under-water camera, beach towels, sports balls, etc .. with free Whataburger coupons for most everyone who attended!

HomeComing .. July 25th

Our 21st Annual HomeComing was celebrated on Sunday morning, July 25th, with a single service at 10:30 am.
*
Special Music was provided by the Harris Family during the service. They provided two great 15 minute packages and were a great blessing.
*
Our guest speaker Dr Randy Newberry, of the Galveston Baptist Association, challanged everyone present to be a Biblical church.
*
The service was followed by a Fellowship Dinner in the church Fellowship Hall. Over 60 pounds of brisket, and 100 pieces of fried chicken were consumed.
*
We are now looking forward to our 22nd Anniversary next July, 2011!

July 2010 Baby Shower!
During the month of July, 2010, New Hope is conducting a \"Baby Shower\" for the new Crisis Pregnancy Center in Bacliff. The new office will be located in the Lighthouse Ministries building at 800 Grand Avenue
Needed items include: Baby diapers, sizes 3, 4, 5; lotions, powders, baby oil; Stage 2 & 3 Jars of baby food; baby wipes; new & like new baby clothes; strollers, high chairs, baby beds.
These items may be brought to the church anytime. We will continue to collect these items through the 1st of August.

Pastor Sumner .. 42 Years of Ministry!
Over Easter, the Spring of 1968, Brother Sumner candidated at the Charlotte Baptist Church of Punta Gorda, Florida. He received a call to become the first full-time pastor of this new work, moving down from Amelia, Ohio the first week of June.
Pastor Sumner\'s first Sunday as pastor was on June 9th, 1968, his son Randy\'s first birthday.
Brother Dick and Donna have now spent over 42 years in the ministry, the last nearly 7 as pastor of New Hope Baptist Church. It has been an amazing forty-two years.
Hopefully, the Lord is not finished with us yet!
